Philippinesf Jaime Cardinal Sin Returns Back to the Father

Jaime Cardinal Sin led the Archdiocese of Manila as its archbishop and was later elevated as a cardinal by Pope Paul VI. He concurrently served as Primate of the Philippines. He retired as the Archbishop of Manila on September 15, 2003 and was succeeded by Gaudencio Borbon Rosales. He was only the third native Filipino Archbishop of Manila — following centuries of Spanish, American and Irish episcopacy. He joined our Creator at the age of 76 on June 21, 2005.

Prayer for His Eminence Jaime Cardinal Sin, former archbishop of Manila, Philippines

God our merciful Father, we thank You for sending us a faithful servant of the Church in the person of Jaime Cardinal Sin, who for a very long time lead your Church in the Philippines.  May all the seeds of divine love that he had sown in each and every one of us continue to grow and yield good things that will proclaim Your glory.  Now that Youfve call him to join Your heavenly family, may You will grant him the reward of his labors and welcome his noble soul into the joy and peace of Your eternal Kingdom.  We ask this through Jesus Christ, Our Lord.  Amen.

Prayer for Peace on the Occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki Bombing
Heavenly Father, we all know that war is a misdeed of man; that war means destruction; and that war means death.  In this regard, we are imploring for Your divine mercy to grant eternal peace to those who died during the bombing of the two cities of Nagasaki and Hiroshima.  We also pray for their families, who since then had the burden of a living with a painful memory brought about by the war.  We also ask for your help, so that any forms of war and any misunderstanding within and between nations in our present time will come to an end; so that Your will of peace and love prevail always.  We ask this through Jesus Christ, Your Son and Our Lord, Amen.

Prayer for Asking Graces through the Intercession of the Servant of God Pope John Paul II

O Blessed Trinity, we thank You for having graced the Church with Pope John Paul II and for allowing the tenderness of your Fatherly care, the glory of the cross of Christ, and the splendor of the Holy Spirit, to shine through him. Trusting fully in Your infinite mercy and in the maternal intercession of Mary, he has given us a living image of Jesus the Good Shepherd, and has shown us that holiness is the necessary measure of ordinary Christian life and is the way of achieving eternal communion with You. Grant us, by his intercession, and according to Your will, the graces we implore, hoping that he will soon be numbered among your saints. Amen. (with ecclesiastical approval of Cardinal Camillo Ruini, the Holy Fatherfs Vicar General for the Diocese of Rome)
